Shanghai Jiecheng International Plaza consists of; one '5 Star' JW Marriott hotel tower and two 'Grade A' office towers. The Office Tower facade reflects the importance of the 'W' with a zig zag pattern in plan. This 'W' shape wall also shifts in plan at two locations posing a design challenge for unitized system curtain wall design. The 5-star JW Marriot Hotel tower facades consist of unitized window wall and recessed metal panels. The glass wall utilizes patch point fittings at the entrance and restaurant.
The Developer is Mingjie Properties and the Architect is Palmer and Tumer Architects. KWP was brought into the project for its ability to solve the most complex facade designs and as always the KWP’s Design Experts were able to come up with a Grade A solution to this very challenging and unique concept.
